Ana Helena Chacón

Costa Rican politician and internationalist, second Vice President of Costa Rica during the administration of Luis Guillermo Solís, and Deputy of the Republic in the period 2006-2010.

Among other things, she supported initiatives in favor of in vitro fertilization, the rights of people with disabilities and the rights of children and adolescents, especially the fight against child sexual exploitation, to which she paid great attention during her ministerial term. She was one of three legislators in that period to present the first bill seeking to recognize same-sex unions.
