Gus Gus
It is an electronic music group, originally from Reykjavik, Iceland. It was founded in 1995 and its current members are Stephan Stephensen and Birgir Þórarinsson.
Throughout its history, its members have changed regularly. Among the most famous of these include singers Emilíana Torrini and Hafdís Huld, who began solo careers. In 2003 they gained some recognition in the music scene with the single “David”, which reached number 52 on the UK singles chart and entered the Billboard dance music charts. On October 25, 2011 they presented their latest work on RNE.
The name of the group refers to Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s film We Are All Called Ali, where Emmi’s character cooks couscous for Ali’s character, but she pronounces it softly and sensually gusgus.
