Rain Dove
Rain grew up on a farm in the Vermont countryside, and by the age of 10 she was already six feet tall. Being so tall for her age, she was always told she looked manly, vulgar and ugly. As a teenager, when he was a volunteer firefighter, many of his co-workers thought he was a man. As she got older, she found her way to a casting call for runway models, was mistaken for a man, was accepted into the audition and didn’t reveal her gender until after the show. It was at that moment that she realized her calling: to challenge the industry’s perceptions of what it means to be a woman. Today, Rain works as a successful model in New York, representing a multitude of brands that don’t ask her to choose a gender, female or male.
