Santa Cruz de Tenerife, LGTB capital during Pride month.
Santa Cruz de Tenerife will be the host city for this special edition of the festival, which aims to turn the island’s capital into one of the future LGTBIQ+ culture and business hubs.
The Sala del Museo de Bellas Artes, La Recova and the Teatro Guimerá will be the venues that, in this first contact, will host this year’s activities, where the program of the event will be limited, with reduced seating capacity, still marked by the restrictions of the pandemic.
Under the slogan, “Another Way of Loving, Another way of Pride”, ARN Culture & Business Pride offers a clear alternative proposal to Pride celebrations around the world, betting on a full agenda of activities aimed at all audiences, but meeting the growing demand for a specialized leisure and business for the most demanding LGTBIQ tourist.
Tenerife is leading the tourist booking sector this summer in Spain. It is one of the best valued destinations in Europe after the pandemic and the Islands offer an attractive, not only natural, but also social and economic for the LGTBIQ+ collective, with a pioneering legislation in the respect for diversity that makes it one of the spots with greater projection LGTBIQ+ in Europe.
The event has made visible the social and economic benefits generated by LGTBIQ+ inclusion, a fundamental human right, but also one of the most important economic drivers in the world.
If the LGTBIQ+ community were a country, it would be the fourth largest economy on the planet, as it annually contributes almost the same as the entire GDP of Germany and according to the UNWTO, it will be the key lever segment for the recovery of the tourism sector.
LGTBIQ+ travelers account for 10% of tourists worldwide and accumulate approximately 16% of total travel spending, representing 200,000 billion euros per year according to the World Travel & Tourism Council.
Spain receives 7 million tourists annually in this segment, is the country with the highest profit in Europe (it receives almost 20% of the group’s business in the European Union) and the second in the world after the USA.
Tenerife is one of the destinations with the best European air connections and enjoys exceptional taxation as well as an extraordinary climate to become one of the most important business spots of the group.
