Nyle Dimarco
American model, actor and activist.
In 2015, he was the second male contestant and the first deaf winner of The CW’s America’s Next Top Model. The following year, he won season 22 of ABC’s dance show, Dancing with the Stars, becoming one of the most recognizable faces in the US.
He was born deaf, but does not consider himself disabled by deafness and sees his media profile as an opportunity to raise awareness of deaf culture. He is a spokesperson for LEAD-K (Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Children). He is also a signer and creative contributor to The ASL App, an app that teaches American Sign Language.
In 2016, DiMarco started The Nyle DiMarco Foundation, a nonprofit organization with the purpose of providing more access to resources for deaf children and their families.
