The team responsible for the film A Fantastic Woman arrived in Chile last 2017. They brought an Oscar under their arm – the one for Best Foreign Film, the first for a Chilean feature film in the history of the awards – and Daniela Vega headed the entourage.
Thanks to the success of the film in which she stars, the trans actress has become a celebrity, inside and outside the country, after playing Marina, a trans woman who faces the problems of seeing her partner die unexpectedly. After winning the statuette for ‘A Fantastic Woman’, the performer arrived at the Government Palace and called on the authorities for gender identity legislation.
