
Miguel Sanz
His professional career has been developed in various marketing and cultural communication projects such as the first MediaLab team in Madrid. He has been Director of Marketing and Promotion of Tourism Madrid of the Community of Madrid and Director of Marketing and Partnership of Madrid Destino, Madrid City Council until his appointment as Director of Tourism. He graduated in Business Studies in the United Kingdom where he also completed a Master’s degree in Latin American Politics and Economics at the London School of Economics.
He is currently general director of Turespaña, the Spanish Tourism Institute, the public body, attached to the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism through the Secretary of State for Tourism, responsible for marketing Spain as a travel destination in the world. It plans and carries out actions for the promotion of Spanish tourism in international markets, within a framework of public-private and inter-territorial collaboration. It is in charge of managing the Spain brand in its tourism dimension. He carries out an important work of tourism intelligence, as well as the management and coordination of the network of 33 Tourism Councils abroad, and is also in charge of the expansion, conservation and modernization of the buildings of the network of Paradores de Turismo de España. In his work, Miguel Sanz has always shown an explicit and proud commitment to the visibility of the LGTBIQ+ community.
